of us in the newsroom who love our pets. wptz's alison carey is live at the plattsburgh animal hospital tonight and has the latest on khloe's condition. alison? alison: i am joined with khlow e
right here and she is doing pretty well after a very close call. early tuesday morning, martha and randy woke to the sound of their cat crying. when they found her in blood, they rushed her to the
plattsburgh animal hospital. every now and then, she would let out a meow. alison: at first, couple got their pet had been but and it should proved otherwise. an x-ray proved otherwise.
it ripped through and shattered the bone. alison: after tending to her pain and reducing her fever, the doctor operated on the cat. an 8- inch pen was inserted in her leg, along with one dozen
staples. when the couple returned home, they found a seagull with a gunshot wound. it was dragging its wings. luckily, the officer was coming to investigate the shooting of the cat. alison: a state trooper
euthanized the bird and conducted numerous interviews around the neighborhood. it is hard because if it happens in the middle of the night and there is no witnesses , it is hard for them to track. you have some dirty feet.
alison: they expect to pay more than $2000 to help their cap get back on her feet. your initial reaction is anger. you want to find whatever did this and once you get the cat back healthy and happy, it is
like that falls by the wayside. alison: state police investigators say they do believe these are isolated incidents and they say they believe it is safe for people in the neighborhood to let their pets outdoors.
