lens that is about 200mm minimum to photographbirds. thats going to allow you to get a little bit closer. you can try with whatever lensyou've got of course but birds are usually a small animal and they are quite a distanceaway so the longer your lens the more of your frame you can fill up with your bird. whenyou are photographing with long lenses one of the problems you can bump into is sometimesyou look at your photo and it's a little bit blurry and you're not sure why because youwere sure it's in focus , so when that happens it's probably camera shake.camera shake occurs when the lens bumps a little bit while you are photographing. nowwe have done a whole other video about camera shake which you can watch here if you areinterested.

but the main rule is that you need to makeyour shutter speed a little bit higher to make up for the length of your lens so ifyour lens is a 200mm lens the rule is that you make your shutter speed twice the lengthof the lens and that will completely eliminate camera shake. so there you go a few easy tips to help youget out there and get started taking beautiful photos of birds. hey just before you go, wehave a really friendly and encouraging facebook group called ecl_share , the link is in thedescription below and you can come over and hang out with all the other photographersthere. thanks for watching!
